What is Kinship?
Kinship is an all-in-one church management platform built for mid-market churches (100-800 members). It combines member management, communications, events, giving, volunteer scheduling, and more into a single, modern platform.
Who is this built for?
We built this specifically for churches that have outgrown spreadsheets but find enterprise tools like Planning Center or Pushpay too complex or expensive. If you have 100-800 active members and want a communication-first approach to church management, this is for you.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Churches with up to 50 active members pay nothing. Every feature is included — no credit card required, no time limit, no feature restrictions.
Can I try it before committing?
Absolutely. Sign up for free and start using it immediately. Every feature is available on every tier, so there is nothing to trial — you get the full platform from day one.
Features
What communication channels are supported?
Email and SMS. You can send targeted messages to segments, groups, or individual members. Templates, scheduling, and automation are all included.
Does it support multiple campuses?
Yes. You can manage multiple campuses with their own locations, events, and member assignments. Members can belong to multiple campuses.
How does online giving work?
We integrate with Stripe for secure payment processing. Members can give one-time or set up recurring donations to specific funds. You get real-time reporting and donor management.
Can members check in to events?
Yes. We support manual check-in, QR code scanning, and kiosk mode. You can track attendance for any event type — services, classes, small groups, and more.
Is there a mobile app?
A native mobile app is on our roadmap. In the meantime, the entire platform is mobile-responsive, and your public church pages are optimized for phone use.
Can I import my existing data?
Yes. We support CSV import for members during onboarding. If you need help migrating from another platform, reach out to our support team.
Pricing & Billing
How does pricing work?
We have five automated tiers based on your active member count: Free (0–50), Small Church ($25/mo, 51–250), Mid-Size Church ($50/mo, 251–800), Large Church ($100/mo, 801–2,000), and Custom (2,000+). Every tier includes every feature. An "active member" is someone who has attended at least twice in the last 3 months, made 2 or more donations in the last 3 months, or is currently on a volunteer roster or staff role.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The monthly subscription is based solely on your active member count. Email and SMS credits are pay-as-you-go at our exact cost (roughly $0.0005/email and $0.009/text). Stripe processing fees for online donations go to Stripe — we add zero markup.
How do tier changes work?
Your tier is evaluated daily based on your active member count. When your count crosses a tier boundary, we notify you by email. The change takes effect on your next billing cycle — never mid-cycle. If your count drops, your bill drops automatically. We use a 30-day stabilization window to prevent short-term fluctuations.
Are there annual contracts?
No. Your subscription is month-to-month and you can cancel at any time. We do not require annual commitments. If we are not earning your trust every month, you should be free to leave.
Security & Privacy
Is my church's data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use PostgreSQL with regular automated backups. Access is controlled via role-based permissions.
Who owns the data?
You do. Your church's data belongs to your church. You can export it at any time, and we'll delete it if you close your account.
Are you GDPR/CCPA compliant?
Yes. We provide tools for data export, deletion requests, and consent management. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Where is the data stored?
Our infrastructure runs on secure servers in the United States. All backups are stored in geographically separate locations.
Support
How do I get help?
All tiers include email support. We aim to respond within 24 hours. As our team grows, we will expand support options — but every church gets the same level of support regardless of tier.
Do you offer onboarding help?
Yes. Our onboarding wizard guides you through initial setup. If you need additional help migrating from another platform, reach out and we will work with you.
What if I find a bug?
Report it through the contact form or email us directly. We take bugs seriously and aim to resolve critical issues within 24 hours.
