Why Kinship exists

If you have ever managed the technology behind a church, you already know the frustration.

You start with spreadsheets and Google Forms. They work for a while. Then your church grows, and suddenly you are stitching together five different tools — one for your member directory, one for email, one for giving, one for check-in, one for volunteer scheduling — and none of them talk to each other. PRICING MODEL

How our pricing works

We want to be completely transparent about how we make money, because we think you deserve to know.

Your subscription pays for our time.

Building software takes thousands of hours. Maintaining it, improving it, keeping it secure, adding the features you ask for — that is ongoing work. Your monthly subscription compensates us fairly for that work. That is our revenue. That is it.

Your communication credits pay for delivery — at cost.

When you send an email, our email delivery partner charges us a fraction of a penny. When you send a text message, our SMS partner charges us about a penny. We pass those costs through to you at the exact rates we are charged. We publish those rates. You can verify them yourself. We add zero markup.

Your donation processing fees go to the payment processor — at cost.

When a member of your congregation gives online, the payment processor charges a standard transaction fee. That fee goes to them, not to us. You choose how to process: connect through Kinship for streamlined processing where volume-based rate improvements are passed along automatically, or bring your own Stripe account for full control. Either way, we add zero markup.

Our costs are low because we built Kinship with a modern, efficient technology stack that runs on minimal infrastructure. We do not have a downtown office or a 200-person staff. We have servers, code, and a commitment to doing right by the churches we serve.
